The Viticulture & Enology Collection at Shields Library
University of California, Davis
Shields Library, University of California, Davis is home to one of the finest collections of grape growing and wine making literature in the world. The collection gathers together materials on grape growing, grape diseases, wine making, fermentation science as well as the economic aspects of the wine industry. The primary emphasis is on the technical & scientific, historical and cultural aspects of grape growing and wine making with strong holdings in the economic and business aspects of grapes and wine.

Vincent E. Petrucci Library
Viticulture and Enology Research Center, California State University, Fresno
The Vincent E. Petrucci Library collects information on the subjects of viticulture and enology, and provides the materials, services, and facility necessary to meet current and future information needs of students, faculty, staff, and industry. Special emphasis is placed on offering viticulture materials, reference materials and services. The library collects and displays VERC faculty and staff research findings and shares the findings with library users world-wide. The library is open to the public, and patrons from outside the university community are encouraged to stop by and make use of the wide range of information available. The library owns approximately 700 volumes pertaining to the topics of viticulture and enology, and has current subscriptions to 32 periodicals in the field. The library also has an extensive pamphlet file containing many leaflets and informational brochures. Materials in the library do not circulate, but can be used inside the library.

Enology and Viticulture Collection

The focus of the collection is on the history and development of wine, wine-making and viticulture with an emphasis on pre-1940 works. The collection covers all areas of the world involved in wine-making, in all languages. The total number of books in the collection is now approximately 4,000. While not the only or the largest of collections on the history of wine, the Enology and Viticulture Collection contains many rare and valuable books that are important for research.

It contains authoritative information on wine, wine making and grape growing, including the business, technology and history associated with wine. St.Helena Library
The Napa Valley Wine Library is an alliance devoted to sharing and preserving information about viticulture, enology and wine lore, particularly in the Napa Valley. The extensive collection of books, magazines, interviews, clippings and other materials is housed at the St. Helena Public Library. While most of this material can and does circulate, older and unique items are available for reference only in the Rare Book Room.

National Agricultural Library
The National Agriculture Library (NAL) is a major international source for agriculture and related information. This Web site provides access to NAL's many resources and a gateway to its associated institutions. AGRICOLA is a searchable bibliographic database of citations to the agricultural literature holdings of the National Agricultural Library and items cataloged by other libraries and not held in NAL's collection. The records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines. Although AGRICOLA does not contain the materials, thousands of AGRICOLA records are linked to online full-text documents, with new links being added every day.

The Core Historical Literature of Agriculture
Mann Library, Cornell University
The Core Historical Literature of Agriculture is a core electronic collection of agricultural texts published between the early nineteenth century and the middle to late twentieth century. Full-text materials cover agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, animal science, crops and their protection, food science, forestry, human nutrition, rural sociology, and soil science. Scholars have selected the titles in this collection for their historical importance.

The Eastern Wine and Grape Archive

Cornell University established the Eastern Wine and Grape Archive to collect the archival records of grape growers, wine makers, and associated industry participants. Included in the collection are the records and papers of George Remaily (papers 1970-2000), Nelson Shaulis (papers 1941-1986), Philip Wagner (papers 1934-1997), Hammondsport Wine Company (1920-1928), Pleasant Valley Wine Company (1860-1953), Urbana Wine Company (1867-1882, 1900-1918), and Widmer Wine Cellars (1906-1963).
